Here is a list of things "I" think every home with children should have: *crayons *markers *paper-white and colored *scissors *markers *cardboard-all shapes and sizes *tape Now here is a list of things that are always good to have: *pipe cleaners *pom poms *feathers *yarn or string *hole punch *hot glue gun(my favorite thing) *stickers *buttons Now if you have all those items your in for some serious crafting! | Here are a few basic crafts, good for smaller children, and good for teaching shapes and colors. SUPPLIES: *glue *cereal ( I use Fruit Loops or Apple Jacks) *paper or cardboard *crayon or marker First take your paper and a crayon or marker and draw something. Things you can draw are pumpkins, Easter eggs,Christmas trees or ornaments, plain shapes,or even pictures whatever suits you for the occasion. Cover the surface with glue and let the kids place cereal on the glue! Easy and fun! If you want to teach shapes and colors simply draw a blue circle, a red triangle ect., and have the kids place color cordinated cereal on shapes! You can also do this activity with feathers to make ducks and chickens. Another cereal activity is old fashioned jewelry making, its fun and its eadible! You can take string or yarn and lace cereal onto it making sure you cut it big enough to slide around the neck or arm and your done! You can do this with your kids or you can make them it for them and put it in a gift box or bag and they will enjoy the thought and the gift! I think giving your kids homemade gifts at the begining of the day starts the day off to a good start kinda like a good breakfast does! You don't have to do it everyday but once in a while and just watch the response, you may not have room for all the gifts you recieve!!! |
